This Is Not a Drill: THREADS Arrives on Blu-ray for First Time Ever!

By Christopher Webster [12.05.17]

Severin Films will release a newly restored edition of the infamous, life-altering post-apocalyptic TV movie Threads on January 30th! Along with The Day After and Testament, Threads is still the most visceral and devastating cultural expression of nuclear winter ever put to film.

In September 1984, Threads was aired on the BBC and shocked tens of millions of UK viewers. Four months later, it was broadcast in America on TBS and became the most watched basic cable program in history.

After more than three decades, Threads remains one of the most acclaimed and sought after made-for-television PA movies of all time.

About the film:
Reece Dinsdale (Coronation Street), David Brierly (Doctor Who) and Jane Hazelgrove (Casualty) star in this “graphic and haunting” (People Magazine) docudrama about the effects of a nuclear attack on the working-class city of Sheffield, England as the fabric of society unravels.
