Lynne Ramsay Set to Direct Stephen King Adaptation [News]

By Marina Antunes [11.20.20]

It was only a matter of time before Lynne Ramsay and Stephen King came together. Both creators have a tendency for exploring dark themes and complicated characters and now we'll get to see just what Ramsay does with a King original.

Ramsay and co-writer Christy Hall ("I Am Not OK With This") have adapted King's "The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon."

The 1999 psychological horror tells the story of a 12-year-old named Trisha Gordon who gets separated from her mother and brother while on a hike through a portion of the Appalachian Trail. With only a portable radio to keep her company and a love for Boston Red Sox relief pitcher Tom Gordon, Trisha wonders through the forest listening to baseball games and fantasizing that her hero will save her. What she doesn't realize is that she is being tracked by "something" dangerous.

This is not one of the King titles that I've read but with Ramsay having adapted the book and taking the help behind the camera, this is definitely something that's instantly notable.

Expect more updates in the coming months.
