Famous First Films: Before Directing THE BATMAN, Matt Reeves Directed this Debut Short

Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield) who is the director of the new film DC film The Batman, started his career with a charming student short film called Mr. Petrified Forest in 1992.

The film was eventually included as segment in the 1994 anthology film Future Shock.

A passport photographer named Steven Forrest (Sam Clay) is petrified of death following the sudden demise of his fearless buddy in a martini accident (he chokes on the olive). He attempts to stay alive by avoiding air travel and by protecting himself from a possible major earthquake he believes is coming.
