By John Connor [04.04.22]
Before directing instant classics like The Witch, The Lighthouse and what looks to be his biggest film to date, the upcoming The Northman, director Robert Eggers debuted his first expressionistic short film in 2006 called Hansel and Gretel which features many of the hallmarks of his work.
Based on the classic Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Robert Eggers' 2006 short debut film Hansel and Gretel is a dark and stylized, black and white, German Expressionistic silent picture featuring detailed design and an eerie musical score.
